Project
Origination: The country manager identifies a project,
conducts onsite due diligence by analyzing all aspects of the project,
creates a report, and then submits the project for approval by the
Board of Directors.
Approval:
Board reviews the report and approves the project.
Financing
the Project:
The projects are financed by special events and the Sponsor a Child
Program. Depen ding on need, additional funds are allocated from
the foundation’s general fund or from grants and other sources.

Implementation:
The Integrated Assistance Program (IAP). provides children with
health and medical, nutritional, and educational assistance.
INTEGRAL
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Health
and Medical Support
Manos
del Sur finances projects that focus on preventive child care such
as immunization, regular medical and dental check-ups and treatment,
nutrition, growth and weight control, health education and medical
supplies.
Nutrition
Manos
del Sur covers not only children’s basic nutritional needs
but also educates them and their families on the basics of adequate
nutrition and health.
Education
One
of the organization’s main objectives is to promote learning
capacity and school assistance through complementary educational
programs and the provision of school supplies. Manos del Sur also
funds after-school workshops to help children with their homework
and special workshops for parents on different topics so that they
can participate in their child’s education. .
Other
Programs
Manos
del Sur has also provided assistance for infrastructure development
and repairs at the various homes and schools.
Other
programs include the funding of social and psychological support
for special needs children.
Control
and Evaluation:
On a quarterly basis, Manos del Sur receives detailed information
on how the funds were spent, receipts of all expenses incurred and
a report on all the activities. Once a year, the country manager
visits each project in order to conduct an in-depth evaluation of
the operations with special emphasis on the benefits received by
the children and the impact in the children’s lives and the
community.
HOW
WE RAISE FUNDS
Sponsor
a Child Program:
Individuals or companies can sponsor a child or children from any
of our projects. Sponsorship covers the children’s basic needs
- health, nutrition, and education. This program improves the children’s
lives and gives them hope for a better future.
Direct
Donations:
Individuals or companies can make special donations to support our
mission or a specific project or country.
Event
Sponsorship
– Fundación Manos del Sur considers sponsors our partners
in helping children grow into self-sustaining happy individuals.
The organization’s events provide companies with the opportunity
to participate in the community, build its charitable image, brand
image, and get exposure to a Latin American and Hispanic target
market.
Matching
Gift Program:
Many companies match charitable contributions made by their employees
thus multiplying the impact of the assistance.
Foundation Grants: Companies
or organizations donate funds through their foundations.
Gifts
in Kind:
Individuals or companies donate products or services to support
the work of Manos del Sur. Some examples of donations include books,
software, computers, hotel rooms, and airfares.
