How we workManos del Sur is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that raises funds for improving the lives of needy children in Latin America. The funds we raise are distributed to a broad portfolio of entities in Latin America dedicated to creating social impact. Each of the countries where we work is assigned a country manager who acts as the originator or leader of our projects. Our staff members carefully screen the projects and entities chosen by Manos del Sur. All country managers are personally involved with the selected organizations and are responsible for communicating with fund recipients. They are also responsible for completing all required paperwork, visiting projects, frequently reporting the progress of projects, and providing detailed explanations of how all funds are spent. In addition, they also maintain constant communication with the children's sponsors and raise funds for their projects. Where we make a differenceManos del Sur works to change lives of children in Argentina, Chile, Colombia , Haiti, Mexico and Peru. This is achieved through our Integrated Assistance Program (IAP) - a system of distributing funds to assist with the health, nutrition and education of children in need. Project FinancingOnce approved by the board of directors, projects are financed through special events, the Sponsor-A-Child program, direct donations from individual contributors or companies and foundation grants.
