We are pleased to announce our first INDIE PASION Festival, "Young Cuban-Americans in Film”, which will be held on Friday September 30, 2016 at the Koubek Center in Miami.
INDIE PASION is an independent short film festival that takes place one night during Fall, to present movies from young film makers from South Florida. This year it will feature Short Films from young Cuban-Americans, making this event a special Cuban night.
At press time, the film lineup is Fe y Paciencia, directed by Diego Rosende, Oleander, directed by Pete Capo, Left or Right, directed by Antuan and Jose Bedia Jr., Om, directed by Antuan and Luchi, produced by Alquimia Film and Climb, directed by Ryan Todd, Story by Jose Bedia Jr.
The event will take place from 7:00 PM to 11 PM with a full schedule of activities. We open with a projection of several short films; followed by a Q&A with the films’ directors and producers. We will also feature PuroArte, an art exhibition featuring artists’ intervention of cigar humidors. After the films, there will be live music, Cuban food and drinks.
The event is presented by Fundación Manos del Sur to benefit Casa Hogar Angeles Custodios in La Ceja near Medellin, Colombia.This organization provides a home, education and health to more than 100 underprivileged children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned by their parents.
